I do not recommend this location. Red sauce on a pizza is apparently an extra charge. They do not explain specials...so my great 9.99 deal was 17 bucks. The cashiers and managers have an odd habit of saying..."don't blame me..you didn't tell me " and basically poor customer service. This was not only said to me, but another party who was overcharged. Unfortunately a local pizza place open on Sunday is non existent before 6 p.m. so this is the stuff we were stuck with. Should have gone to a chain pizza place other then this one.

Best CiCi's I've ever been to. Huge crowd while we were there and never had to wait for buffet replenishment.

I haven't read any previous reviews yet, so I am writing this without prejudice. I have visited this particular Cici's exactly 6 times in the last 6 weeks. The first few times I came here over a year ago, I was unimpressed with the food and service overall. It was just ho-hum. It wasn't bad but not super either. The last four to 6 months have been different. VERY different. SPECTACULAR is the word that comes to mind. The first thing I notice, is the owner is obviously present. She is at the helm, leading by example, and the staff is following her lead superbly. Secondly, the food is fresh. Ultra fresh. The salad bar is fresh each visit, and well stocked. I'm greeted immediately upon entering, I'm always asked for special requests...always (nice touch) .... The pasta isn't all dried out and crusty, it's fresh too. There's always the red and white sauce, where before it seemed it was a crap shoot if it would be marinara or Alfredo that day. The pizza selection is good, there's always a nice variety. The breadsticks (cheese bread is my favorite) is always well stocked and gooey, just how I like it. My husband is a fan of the brownies and cinnamon rolls, and he's always happy at the quality and availability of those. If they're gone, there's always another pan just around the corner coming right up with nearly no wait. Now for the negatives. I regret that I even have to write any negatives, but with the good comes the bad, too. The restaurant needs some revamping. Particularly the booths. They're torn and taped, and need reupholstering badly. The bathroom...well the ladies room, could use a little ladies touch up and an air freshener. The game room is always a hit, but it would be nice if the coin changer worked more often. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend going to Cici's especially if you haven't been in a while. And when you leave, listen for the smiley THANK YOU they give. It's genuine. Nice touch folks!!!

Saturday July 27 2013 went to Cici's on SE 14th at approximately 5:30 PM. Paid full price for buffet and drinks. Cherry tomatoes were rotting at the salad bar so we didn't feel very confident about the salads. In the pizza area there were only two pizzas available, both sausage and pepperoni. Clueless worker asked if there was anything he could get for us. We responded "pizzas!" (this shouldn't have been rocket science, right?) He said that he had some in the oven and sure enough one came right up - sausage and pepperoni. I thought the idea of a buffet was variety. So my vegetarian wife had nothing she could eat, neither rotting salad components nor pizzas with meat. I had the (what else) sausage and pepperoni which at the best of times at Cici's is pretty much just fodder, nothing to write home about. So then I sent a complaint via the corporate web site. The franchisee for this location emailed me an apology and said they would try to be at the location more often. So we paid for a meal we basically didn't get and this is how they propose to resolve the situation. Lame, Cici's. Lame.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
